Commercial Projects

Our projects garner much enthusiasm and clients admire our originality and focus on details. Through the analysis of site and context, we define constraints and creatively explore solutions that address the myriad of often conflicting site issues. Equally mportant, we promote landscape design that contributes to a greener environment.

Above several parking levels, the plaza and perimeter of this building were renovated to complement the building's modern design. A black granite wall creates a minimalist focal point and was designed to subdivide the plaza, define a new entrance, and form space for outdoor dining. Fields of granite and brick paving unify the various spaces and reinforce the geometry of the wall.

The design of this arcade was inspired by historical advances in automation that occurred at the post office which stood on the site. The stainless steel gazing balls are suggestive of machine parts and ball bearings, while the curvature of paving, walls and lighting evoke flow and movement associated with automation. Highlighting the plaza at the north end of the arcade, is a glass art wall designed by a local artist.

This courtyard, in a former loading dock, required the removal of paving, contaminated soils, and buried oil tanks. The new garden creates a focal point for the surrounding nine-story office building. Granite paving forms a strong geometric pattern and low seating walls edge the paving and sweep through the courtyard. The massing of plants and the overhead canopy of trees, directs one's attention away from the building's height.

The renovation of this rooftop pool transformed an unattractive space, with dark brick paving and few plants, into a garden terrace. The distinctive paving pattern and large planting areas complement the swimming pool's geometry and create a variety of sitting areas and spaces around the pool. The scope included demolition, new waterproofing, paving, drainage, walls, landscaping, irrigation, and lighting.
